According to the latest statistics of the Center for Information and Statistics (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development): Until the end of November 2016, the total value of imported vegetables reached $US 814 million, an increase of 44% over the same period last year.
In the first 10 months of 2016, the total value of imported vegetables reached $US 732 million, with Thailand as the largest export (44%), followed by China (23%). Currently, fruits of Thailand are much more appreciated than fruits from China, by Vietnamese consumers.
According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam exports have achieved positive results. Specifically, in the accumulated 11 months of 2016, the total value of exported vegetables and fruits reached $US 2,178 billion.
In the first 10 months of 2016, the total value of exported vegetables and fruits reached $US 1.99 billion, an increase of 30.5% over the same period last year, mainly in major markets including China (70, 4%), Korea (3.6%), the US (3.4%) and Japan (3.1%).

In 2016, exported fruits and vegetables are expected to reach a high value, from $US 2.5 billion to $US 2.6 billion.
