Urging businesses to pay tax debt of VND 5 million or more

VCN- In order to accelerate debt collection, the General Department of Taxation has sent the list of businesses with a tax debt amount of VND 5 million or more to Tax Departments to urge and enforce in a timely fashion.

As of 31st January 2018, total amount of tax debt of 63 tax departments was VND75.8 trillion

According to the report from the Department of Taxation, as of the end of January, the Tax authority took measures to collect tax debt amount of about VND 3,943 billion as of 31st December transferring to 2018. As of 31st December, this revenue reached 8.9% for 90-day tax debts and over 90-day tax debts, of which, VND 2,751 billion was collected by debt management measures and VND 1,192 billion by debt enforcement measures.

As of 31st January 2018, the total tax debt at 63 Tax departments was VND 75.8 trillion, increasing by VND 2,721 trillion compared to 31st December 2017. Specifically, the revenue from 90-day tax debts and over 90-day tax debts was VND 27.9 trillion, from administrative violation and late payment it was VND 16 trillion, from irrecoverable debt (from died or missed taxpayers…) was VND 31.7 trillion.

Notably, besides the assignment of tax debt collection target to Tax departments, the General Department of Taxation has announced the list of businesses with a tax debt of VND 5 million or more as of 31st December 2017. At the same time, it has requested the Tax Department to urge, enforce and publicize tax debt information to collect outstanding debts to the State budget.
