Travelers and goods entering Laos via Cau Treo International Border Gate must be isolated for 14 days

 VCN- According to Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch (Ha Tinh Customs Department), Nam Phao International Border Check Point (Lao People's Democratic Republic) issued a dispatch of isolation for all people (Lao citizensand foreigners), means of transport on entry, goods imported into Lao People's Democratic Republic via Cau Treo-Nam Phao International border gate for 14 days for medical examinationfrom 7am on March 19.

Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch said that on March 1, Nam Phao International Border Check Point issued a Dispatch No. 30/ Nam Phao International Border Check Point dated March 1, 2020 sending to the Cau Treo International Border Gate Management Board on prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Accordingly, Nam Phao International Border Check Point notified that all people (Lao citizensand foreigners), means of transport on entry, goods imported into Lao People's Democratic Republic via Cau Treo-Nam Phao International border gate must be isolated for 14 days for medical examination starting from 7am on March 19.

Also, Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch said that in Announcement 102/TB-VPCP dated March 17, 2020, the Prime Minister directed to suspend the issuance of visas to all foreign travellers entering Vietnam for 30 days starting from 00.00 onMarch 18, 2020.

Accordingly, the Prime Minister directs that from 00.00 onMarch 18, 2020, cases of visa exemption or visa exemption certificate granted to Vietnamese people and relatives, some other special cases (such as experts, business managers,   skilled workers) when entering Vietnam,will have to be certified as negative forCOVID-19. The certificate must be issued by the competent authority in the host country and approved by Vietnamese authorities. The measures do not apply to people on entry for diplomatic or official purposes.

Cases of entry must undergo medical checks and comply with appropriate epidemic prevention and control measures according to regulations.

Cases coming from the US, European countries and ASEAN countries also must be isolated. At the same time, cases not subject to centralised isolation must be isolated and implement medical supervision at home, businesses’ headquarters and accommodation establishments.

To create favorable conditions for people on entry, goods imported-exported via Cau Treo International Border Gate, the branch notifies all people, travelers and businesses. When these directions are changed, the branch will inform.
