Nghe An Customs – Border Defense collaborated to seize 124 smuggling cases

VCN – Base on the statistics, in the period in 2012 – 2017, Nghe An Customs Department has coordinated with Border Defense Force Command to detect and arrest 124 cases of violations with 132 persons.

In particular, 19 cases with 19 subjects, exhibits were including 69 kg firecrackers; 6,500 packets of cigarettes; over 2 billion vnd, 1 bar + 90 grams of heroin, 1.8 kg of opium, 4,025 tablets of synthetic drugs; Administrative sanctions for 105 cases with 113 subjects, collect to state treasury 613 million vnd.

In the past five years, the two forces have had hundreds of information exchanges, including 36 sources that were used to deploy plan by the two sides. Mr. Chu Quang Luan, Director of Nghe An Customs Department, said that in order to catch information about commodities, tricks of smugglers, two forces regularly exchange information about the situation related to anti-trafficking, especially crimes of infringing upon national security, illegally crossing border and sea, illegally transport narcotics and human trafficking includes children and women to foreign countries; Weapons, explosives, foreign currencies, counterfeit money, State secrets documents, harmful cultural products and other crimes at border gates and seaports.
