Accordingly, the task of this team is also stipulated by the General Department of Vietnam Customs that it is in charge of advising to develop the department’s plan on Tax debt recovery to ensure the completion of the annual assigned target on tax debt collection and other arising debts.
Directing the classification and handling of tax debts and making documents for tax debt monitoring, and taking coercive measures to recover tax debts in accordance with regulations.
Advising and proposing to the Department’s Director to solve inadequacies and shortcomings in the tax debt recovery at the Department.
At the same time, collaborating with relevant agencies to collect information, handle and recover enterprises’ tax debts.
Urging, instructing and checking the tax debt recovery of Customs Branches, enhancing responsibilities for handling and recovery of tax debts, checking the making and management of documents on tax debts at Customs branches. Reporting on the situations and results of the recovery and settlement of outstanding debts.

Tax debt recovery is one of the important solutions of the Customs sector in the prevention of tax losses. Implementing this solution, the General Department of Vietnam Customs issued the regulation on the management of Tax debt and other revenues for import and export goods to guide the general implementation in the Customs sector.
