Vietnam Customs requests to strictly handle tax debts

VCN- The General Department of Vietnam Customs has issued Official Letter to request provincial and municipal Customs Departments to strictly review and handle tax debts by applying enforcement methods to recover to contribute to State budget or deleting tax debts as per regulations.

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, tax debts which have been decided to be dissolved by competent authority, tax debts which have been decided to be bankrupted by competent authorities, tax debts of tax payers who are missing and disappearing from business address (more than 10 years), tax debts which are waiting for writing-off as per regulations and over 90-day tax debts still remain with huge amount in provinces.

Regarding to debts subject to be written-off, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requests to set a file and submit competent authority to write -off tax debts as per regulations.

Regarding to recoverable debts, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requests provincial and municipal Customs Departments to urge and apply enforcement methods to recover to contribute to State budget.

At Decision 1084/QD-TCHQ dated 31 March 2017 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs on assigning provincial and municipal Customs Departments to recover and handle tax debts of 1,307 billion VND, the tax debts which were recovered and handled under Decision 1084 in the first 6 months 2017 is 164.5 billion VND, reaching 12.5% of the target . Tax debts which were recovered and handled outside Decision 1084 (debt groups outside recoverable debt groups) is 429.4 billion VND.

Currently, overdue debt groups which are waiting for being written-off and exempted decreased 207.6 billion VND (a decrease of 83.6 billion VND compared to December 31, 2016). Irrecoverable debt groups decreased 138.3 billion VND compared to December 31, 2016.
