Customs seize 2 hundred kilograms of fireworks at Bo Y Border

VCN – Bo Y Customs Branch, Gia Lai – Kon Tum Customs Department said that, from the beginning of 2018 until now, the unit has discovered many cases of illegal transportation of fireworks across the border, seizing over 200kg of fireworks.

Smuggled firecrackers were seized at Bo Y Border Gate

Recently, in the morning of 29/1, Bo Y Customs Branch coordinated with Bo Y Border Control Station to patrol at a lakeshore area near barrier No.2, about 200m west of the border gate. The area is in LeC village, Bo Y Ward, Ngoc Hoi District, Kon Tum province. There, the competent force discovered a goods package that was hidden in brush, so they opened it for inspection.

As a result, they found 25 boxes of crackers (suspected fireworks) inside the package, weighing 33 kg. The working group made a record and handed over those crackers to the Bo Y Customs Branch for handling in accordance with regulations.

Earlier, on 25/1, the Customs Enforcement Unit also detected and seized 31 kilograms of fireworks at the Bo Y border area.

From the beginning of 2018 until now, Gia Lai - Kon Tum Customs Department has detected 5 cases of transporting illegal firecrackers across the border and seized 217 kg of fireworks.
