At 9.10 am, on 8th May 2018, in the Southern Zone of Vinh Te Canal, Ba Bai Hamlet, Vinh Te Commune, Chau Doc City, An Giang province, the working team of Task Force on Anti-Drug and Crime in the South led and coordinated with Vinh Nguon Border Guard Station, An Giang Border Guard to ambush and detect 1 car of 16 seats, license plate No. 67B-00009 driven by Trinh Trung Tin, born in 1983, residing in Tran Hung Dao ward, Long Xuyen city, An Giang province, discharging Thailand sugar from a boat on the car.

The Force inspected the car and detected 50 bags of sugar (50kg/bag). At the time of inspection, driver Trinh Trung Tin did not submit documents related to the amount of sugar.

Currently, the Task Force on Anti-Drug and Crime in the South coordinated with Vinh Nguon Border Guard Station to investigate, verify and handle in accordance with provisions of the law.

Previously, at 21h50 p.m on 5th May, at Vinh Hoa Hamlet, Vinh Gia Commune, Tri Ton District, An Giang Province, the Task Force on Anti-Drug and Crime in the South led and coordinated with Vinh Gia Border Guard Station to ambush and detect a Toyota car of 7 seats with a Cambodian license plate, moving from Cambodia to Vietnam with many suspicious signs.

The Forces issued stop signals for administrative checks and discovered four people in the car including Mr. Chea Vanak, Ms. Sray Mom, Mr. Phai Sok Cham Reuon and Mr. Khap Sam Bath (Cambodian nationals) who were illegally carrying foreign currency including US Dollars. , Ria (Cambodia currency) and Vietnamese currency across the border with the total amount of VND 619.686 million.

Currently, the Forces have sealed the above currency and made a report on arresting and taking testimonies from the perpetrators.
